From Clubbing to Crocheting: A Rebrand I Didn’t See Coming”

There’s a part of me that lives for a good time. The type that thrives in the dim glow of club lights, sipping cocktails on a yacht, or turning up with my girls on a rooftop in the city. I love the chaos, the excitement, and the memories made in between DJ transitions and blurry selfies.

But then there’s another side of me. A softer, slower, cozier version that revels in the joys of self entertainment the one that gets just as much thrill from picking up a crochet hook as I do from picking out the perfect party dress. As I’ve grown, I’ve found myself reconnecting with the hobbies I adored as a kid things that make me feel at peace, creative, and oddly productive. And surprisingly, these pastimes have led me to a new community of like minded people, proving that slowing down doesn’t mean missing out it just means experiencing life differently.

So, let’s talk about the “Cozy Girl Era” the rebrand that’s just as powerful as a wild night out.

Crocheting: Creativity in Every Stitch

Listen, I love trying new things. My hobbies shift depending on my mood, but crocheting? That one stuck. There’s something about taking a ball of yarn and turning it into a wearable piece of art that scratches an itch in my creative brain.

Whether I’m making cute accessories, gifting a handmade blanket to a friend, or attempting (and sometimes failing) to crochet a top that actually fits me, this hobby has been one of my biggest joys. It’s calming, it’s rewarding, and honestly? It’s a flex who else can say they made their own wardrobe from scratch?

Baking: Because Being a PTA Mom Someday Requires Skills

I have always been a foodie first, baker second. I love to eat, but baking? That’s been a struggle. My early attempts at making cookies looked more like pancakes, and my cakes? Let’s just say I’ve unintentionally made more bricks than the Home Depot warehouse.

But practice makes perfect, right? And if I ever plan on being a top tier PTA mom, I need to level up my skills. So, I’m in my baking era perfecting cupcakes, cake pops, and anything else that will make me the mom with the best snack game at future school events. Until then, my friends and family are my test subjects (whether they like it or not).

Blogging: Because Apparently, People Care About My Opinions

Who knew that my never ending thoughts would actually be something people want to read? I’ve always had a lot to say, but blogging has become my way of sharing stories, lessons, and unfiltered life moments with the world.

Writing is therapeutic it lets me be loud when I want to be and reflective when I need to be. And what’s even better? The interaction. Seeing people relate, comment, and add their own experiences makes me feel like we’re all just figuring life out together. Some days, I’m writing deep reflections; other days, I’m talking about why certain men give the same energy as undercooked chicken. Balance, you know?

Thrifting: Because Clothes Have Stories Too

I love thrifting, but not just for the obvious reasons. It’s not just about finding unique pieces or saving money it’s about the mystery.

Every time I pick up a thrifted jacket or a vintage bag, I can’t help but wonder:

  • Who owned this before me?
  • Did they love it?
  • Where did they wear it?
  • What made them decide to give it away?

I hold onto my clothes like memories, so when I let something go, it means something. The same goes for the pieces I thrift each item has a past, and now, I get to add to its story. Plus, thrifting feeds my ever changing aesthetic. Some days I’m a minimalist; some days I want loud prints and bold colors. It keeps things interesting, just like life.

Cleaning: Therapy, but With Lemon-Scented Disinfectant

Some people clean because they have to. I clean because I love the feeling of a fresh, spotless space. There’s something about wiping everything down, organizing chaos, and making a room smell like lavender and disinfectant that just does something to my soul.

Cleaning is a mental reset for me. When life feels overwhelming, I grab a mop, light a candle, and let the stress melt away. If I could bottle the smell of a freshly cleaned house and wear it as perfume, I would. (Also, if I could drink Pine-Sol, I probably would. I won’t lie I did taste it once as a kid, and I can confirm: way better to smell than to sip. Save yourself the trauma.)

The Cozy Girl Era: The Best of Both Worlds

Sometimes, life needs to slow down. And when it does, crocheting, baking, blogging, thrifting, and cleaning give me something to pour my energy into things that allow me to be productive without pressure, creative without deadlines, and social in ways I never expected.

Through these hobbies, I’ve met new people, gained new skills, and found a deeper appreciation for life at a slower pace.

But don’t get it twisted I’ll still be at the next yacht party with a cocktail in one hand and a crochet hook in the other. Balance, babe. That’s what it’s all about.
